THE MOVEMENT

It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten

The word Sankofa is from the Ashanti language, a form of the Twi languange from present day Ghana, and literally translated means “Go back and get it”.

The symbol of the bird with the egg is generally connected to the Ashanti proverb “Se wo were fi na wosankofa a yenkyi” — which means “It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten.”

The Sankofa Bird reminds us that we must continue to move forward as we remember our past. And at the same time we plant a seed for the future generations that come after us.

WHAT ARE WE DOING IN NIGERIA BESIDES MUSIC?

At Negron World we’ve learned the importance of going to the source of the degradation in community infrastructures in order to enrich communities and attempt to infect the multitudes with a sense of pride, care and respect for their fellow brethren and most importantly; the youth. We truly believe in giving back to the communities and the ultimate outcomes often times have significantly positive impacts.~ Toño Negron

“The greatest legacy one can pass on to a child is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith.”
